Exploring Howe Sound by Boat
Howe Sound is the southernmost fjord in North America, and the entire Sea to Sky Highway runs alongside it from Vancouver to Squamish. Boat and kayak trips head out from Squamish or Porteau Cove looking for harbour seals, and occasionally a pod of orcas passes through. It became a UNESCO Biosphere Region in 2021, recognition of a genuinely fast environmental recovery.
